5 Reasons To Tell Your Friends about West Coast Weekender

We all know it only takes one person to get the rest interested in trying something new, be that person.  Here are 5 reasons you should tell your friends!

1.  It’s the first West Coast Weekender… Ever!

WCW is something San Diego’s dance community has been craving, an intimate 3-day festival showcasing worthy music, culture, and a true representation of how the west coast parties. It’s a chance for people to support the local creators who for years have provided underground events and always giving a refreshing spotlight on the scene. This will be a time to show your gratitude and support something that is going to evolve each returning year. So come party with us, bring your positive vibes, and don’t miss the boat.

2.  More than just top notch music.

The lineup isn’t the only thing to get pumped about. 3-day ticket holders will have access to panel discussion to get an educational experience out of the festival. If you have the 2-day pass, you will be able to upgrade. (Link to upgrade https://westcoastwkndr.eventbrite.com). The DJ panels will be offered Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Skyline meeting room at the Four Points in Downtown SD. They will discuss Music for the Positive Social Change, Film Screen – Unconscious Therapy (The Mind, Body & Soul of House Music), Brand Building (record labels, event promotion, social media), and Song Writers Workshop (song writing, producing, remixing, publishing). These panels are vital to giving back to the music community and inspiring the youth. Yoga will be held at the event in the morning to relax your mind and your body for the night to follow. Art and music go hand in hand so expect to see local artists pouring their passion out on the canvas to give you that visual feel of the west coast.  There will also be dancers from Culture Shock and other dance crews that will be sure to give quite a show. All of that combined with local food and shopping vendors, we guarantee our beautiful culture will be brought to view.

3. Off the hook talent!

DJ legends from across the nation, as well as our favorite local selektors are going to guarantee the dance party doesn’t stop. All organizers affiliated with the festival bring their own unique sounds to keep the crowd interested and dancing, all night dancing.

Deep End Favorites: Miguel Migs, Manik, Doc Martin, Christian Martin and Cris Herrera

4. San Diego is the Place to Be

San Diego is known to be called, “The birthplace of California”, which makes it essential for the WCW to take place. The city has really come a long way from the 70’s when underground artist were forced to travel to LA to get their music heard, but now more and more artists are wanting to come and play from all over the world. WCW pre-party is going down at Spin Night club just outside of downtown, where many of our festival goers have experienced the underground parties. This club always has proper sound and space for everyone to dance throughout the night. The heart of the event will take place at the World Beat Cultural Center in Balboa Park. With the center dedicated to promoting and preserving culture, this venue is the ideal setting for the festival. Both of these venues have continued to house and support the local originators.

5. No Stress, No Worries

We’ve all been to a festival where it takes an arm and a leg for a ticket and deal with the head ache that comes with it.  West Coast Weekender is offering 3 day passes that will run you less than $100! Quick access to vendors, and the festival having only two stages, allows attendees to be able to explore the event without the stress.

You’ve probably been to one of the many parties San Diego’s underground has to offer. Members from Siesta Records, I’ll House You, Soul on Beat, Art of Sound, SD Union, United by Bass, and The Deep End, as well as other partners, have always satisfied our music loving soul’s one party at a time. Now that they’re all teamed up, feel assured that the West Coast Weekender is most def the festival your friends should attend this season.
